Kingdom Dynamics Weekly (KDW) July 22, 2019 By Tunde Olugboji Vol 19:26 Title: What’s your capacity?

The English dictionary describes capacity as the maximum amount that something can contain, or the amount that something can produce. And as a believer, your capacity to receive God’s blessings will largely determine God’s willingness to release his blessings unto you.

The bible says, “For I will pour water on the thirsty land,  and streams on the dry ground;
I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams.” (Isa 44:3-4). What Prophet Isaiah is saying here is that thirst is a prerequisite for drinking from God’s unlimited riches, for tapping into God’s multifaceted and multifarious blessings. God won’t pour unto those who are not thirsty, or on the ground that is not dry.

The soul that is not thirsty is in effect saying: I am self-sufficient, I can do it my own way, I can lean on my own understanding, I don’t exactly need God, I can do stuff on my own.

Let’s discuss this in the context of demand and supply. In the world’s economic system, the higher the demand, lower the supply and the higher the price, because suppliers tend to withhold the goods to keep prices high.

But things work differently in the kingdom. In the kingdom economy, the higher the demand, the greater the supply, or in kingdom language, the greater the flow of God’s blessings. In other words, in the things of God, supply is proportional to demand, as long as you are holding on to the profession of your faith, he [God] who has promised is faithful (Heb 10:23). As Paul says: “And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. “(Phil 4: 19 Amp).

In 2 Kings 4, there was a groundbreaking, miracle inducing, mind blowing conversation between Elisha and the widow: What do you have in the house, he asked her? Nothing but a jar of oil, she responded. He thereafter instructed her to go borrow empty jars, close the door behind her and start pouring oil in the jars.  She lined up the jars and as long as there were empty jars, there was supply, the oil was flowing. As many empty jars she could bring were filled; as long there was emptiness in each jar, there was a flow coming into it, and when there were no more empty jars, the oil ceased.

So, as long as there is capacity, as long as there is an empty, longing heart, there will be a continual overflowing of the fountain of salvation. If there is a place where the oil ceases to flow, there are no empty jars there, no souls hungering and thirsting for righteousness.

This week, can you ask God to create in you a thirst for him so that his anointing will keep on flowing into you? Ask him to give you the courage to keep on demanding for more of his grace and favor, and to help you utilize  the capacity he has put inside of you. After all, he is the Almighty God, the breasted one, from whom all good things flow.

Have a great week.
